What’s truly mine, yours, theirs and ours?

Let’s think upon this matter for a quick second. What’s the thing that Allah gave to us, that will be completely belong to us, throughout our life?

"Pile of cash in our bank account?"
No. It will be drained away sooner or later.

"Line up of branded clothes?"
No. Those will be worn out someday.

"Ranks in our profession?"
No. It will be replaced with someone better later on.

"Throng of friends and family members?"
 No. They’ll leave us eventually.

"Our joyful life?"

No. At any moment, Izrail will come to invite us.

Then what are the things that truly ours?

The reality does kicks in. We truly own nothing indeed. There’s simply nothing that we could think of, that will eventually last till the very end. All of the things that we are currently possessing are just well stated as temporary. All of those things are just being lend by Allah for our utilisation in this brief life of duniya. But this one thing that surely will belong with us forever, that also being awarded to each of living human in this world.

“Choice”

Yes, it’s the choice. Our own choices to be exact.

When we look upon the things that reside and living on this earth, not even one thing that will last for eternity. This world only serve as the stop over point for all of us, before heading to the next stage of life, that is the eternal akhirat life later on.

The Maserati that we drive, the Coach handbag that we fling around, the luxurious penthouse that we reside in, the high-tech gadgets that always sticking to us, all of those will eventually be swept away from us when the ticking time comes.

Put aside all of those deceitful stuffs, as we will bring back only this one particular thing; our deeds. The deeds that we have been collecting and striving for in our duniya’s life. The deeds that we might have done, ranging from the smallest gestures like holding the door for others to the biggest kindness like donating a high sum of money for the construction of mosques. All of those will be accounted for later on.

But where does the deeds come from?

It’s all originated from our own choices that we take in the first place. Starting from the duration of us living in the world, that ranging from the first day we hit our puberty and the last day of breathing in this world.

On daily scope, we already being faced by multiple of choices. We might not realise this but we do make numerous of choices around. From the simplest question such as “Where to eat?”, “What to wear?” to the biggest thing such as “Which course should I take?”, “Which university shall I enter?”, “Which girl should I marry?”. Those are several examples of choices that we need to make.

Our micro choices that we take everyday, are largely influencing the major choices that will ultimately draw the next path of our future life.

Micro and major choices will define you as well

Let’s take a profession of an airline pilot as an example. An established pilot, will spend most of their time in the plane cockpit, airport terminals and overseas stopover. They need to be apart for their family as to obligate to their daily duties. It's the choice that they made previously in becoming a pilot, so they need to adhered on their jobs need.

On each day, their daily works and micro choices will directly connected as being a pilot. They need to fly the airplane safely to the designated destinations, perform regular safety check of the aircrafts and taking care of the safety of all the passengers and fellow crew members.  Also sometimes, they need to make major choices as to confront occasional technical problems, miss communication by the air traffic controller and instrumental failure during mid flight.

This example truly reflect to us when we are taking up the choices in becoming a true Muslims. If we truly immersing our heart in the firm Iman, it will be directly reflected through our action and deeds. We need to follow through how the true Muslims lead their daily life. That particular choice is something that truly being decided, that will eventually generate a desired transformation in our life.

The choices are not only influenced by the scope of our life’s goals, but also from the daily activities that we perform. From the smallest actions, we need to identify the halal and haram of doing something right up. All of these are needed in order to venture for His ultimate blessing. Besides, do remember that Allah's mercy embraces all sort of things.

It proves to be fatal for the human on not choosing the proper path to secure their Iman. For some of them, by keep indulging themselves with sins and being astray from the blessed path, also without doing any repentance will lead to the imminent destruction of Iman itself. Their souls will be enveloped with zhulumat (darkness) until the ray of hidayah from Allah is granted through. But only if the death's call don’t invite them first.

Don't ever let ourself to be enveloped with zhulumat

Worst still, if one particular person thought that he already made the choice of becoming a true Muslims, but in contrast, his heart is still largely filled with uncertainty and endless doubtness on the choice that had been made. Eventually, they will forever stuck with the former bad actions, on continuous cycle.

Actually, they are the group of people that being fooled by themselves. They might thought that they had been successfully transformed from the ‘robotic human’ to become a ‘dai’e’. But unfortunately, they only stood for ‘dai’e’ that perform the dakwah without the sturdy presence of Iman in his soul.

They might still do the dakwah, but in a matter of just to follow suit as the rest are doing. In front of the others, they show the proper attitude of an Ikhwah, but behind them, they just continue doing their wrong doings. May Allah keep us away to be included among this misguided group.

Still, we must realise on the fact that Allah created us imperfect, so He does not expect perfection from us. But He does expect us to do our best,  in doing anything on the path that leads to His ultimate blessing. Along the way, let's help each other in striving for His jannah as well. Don't push others down as you go up. Instead, reach out your hand and help those who are down when you are on the upwards trajectory.

To sum up, do sincerely ask our heart,

“Dear heart, do you already secured with firm Iman? Or you still doubting with this deen (religion)?"
"He knows what is in every hearts [67:13]"
