Concealed by the 'Mask of Duniya'

The power of love is just immensely powerful. Whether it comes in a way of loving a particular thing or in the firm love bond that existed among human beings. That’s basically become the fitrah for all of us, as a human to pose a loving value particularly in our own self. But what happen when we are too attached in loving something, that eventually turn out to jeopardise ourself?

Typically, human tend to love the thing that situated within a close range to them, especially the things that physically touchable and can be seen right from our very own eyes. In contrary, for us to love  something that is placed far away and physically untouchable is just seems hard at a first glance.

Our Creator, Allah SWT has already well-customised upon the this matter. As stated in His firman of :

(The Holy Quran, ali-Imran  3:14)

In fact, human beings are generally born with the feeling of kindness and desire in seeking a truth, that originated straight from their heart. Well that’s what really Islam stands for. The feeling that being emitted from the purest heart and in the same moment, not being wholly influenced by the ruthless deceive of the world. The reality of duniya's life nowadays, that is proven to be addicting and reckless, that eventually will drag us further to the path of our own iman destruction.

Nevertheless, as we grow older, we tend to indulge ourself with the dreadful influence and seductive temptation that this duniya stands to offer. Looking upon the severe condition of current society; social problems among youth, the greedy conquer for power, endless desire for money and unstable political systems, just to name a few. All of these contributing factors robustly prove that today's society is somehow still largely orienting to the deceive of the duniya’s life and eventually neglecting the akhirat's life far behind.

"When love of this world enters the heart,
the fear of the Hereafter exits from it"

Besides, the society nowadays just literally place the akhirat’s life limited to the activities within the mosques and surau only. This really serve as a harsh reality that need to be confronted and prove to be a real challenge to the Muslims. The prime question is, are we truly aware upon this sickening reality?

Then, if we keep our hands bustling with the duniya's commitment, without keeping a steady balance of the akhirat's life, our own intention of living in this world has eventually become blurry. Are we currently living and breathing for just simply nothing? Question ourself back, what truly our own intention that we are targeting to? Is it just targeted to secure a well-established career? Possessing a pile of cash? Or even just for a fancied fame?

Without our true realisation, we tend to pour our affection towards the temporary duniya’s life, far more than the eternal akhirat’s life.

"The world serves as prison for a true believer and
paradise for a disbeliever"
- Prophet Muhammad S.A.W

That's exactly when we are wearing the 'mask of the world' rather than 'mask of akhirat' in living our daily life. Eventually, we tend to be delusively pampered by the temporary duniya's wealth and forget on what really our true intention as a Muslim for living in this world. As time goes, we drastically straying far off-course, crumble in the state of obscure, due to the inflicting orientation towards the sickening duniya's life.

Basically if we are living with the 'mask of duniya' on, our life gonna be just like no other than the robots, aimlessly doing the same daily routines over and over again. We are then living in the same phase of cycle, without even knowing how's the life hereafter will catch up for us soon. Striving for the success and triumph of the world without keeping the balance on the akhirat's obligations that will capsized you deep under.

“For those who place akhirat as their ultimate intention, Allah will make his luxury in his soul. Allah will ease their way and the world will come after him in disgust. For those who place the duniya as their ultimate intention, Allah will place the poverty between their eyes. Allah will scatter his action and the world will not come after them unless for the destined for them..”

(HR at-Tirmidzi)

"Never get too busy making your life
 that you forget your afterlife.."

Only if we take away this 'mask of the world', it’s time when we realise that the true value of this world is just simply stands for nothing. Life that we have previously known is simply left worthless. At an instant, it will reconstruct our own life orientation back to the utmost matter, that is to place the akhirat's life as a the true intention of living in this world.

Still, this is not encourage us to neglect and discard away all of the world's responsibility that we are currently holding to our back. Our responsibility as a students, parents, workers are still not effected. We must utilise this world that we are currently living in, as an effective 'tool' in reaching something far more promosing.

Right in this matter, the consistent endeavour for the Muslim for securing their place in the Jannah is very vital. In general, for Muslims, this duniya will serve no other than the ‘farm’ of good deeds that is essential for the prosperity of the akhirat’s life later on. After all, our life in this world is no other than being a sole slave to Allah, and not the slave of this Duniya.

"And the life of this world is nothing
but play and amusement"
[6:32]

As a conclusion, let’s transform our typical way of living in this temporary world, to the far more assuring life of the akhirat. Place all of our nawaitu, only for the sole bless of Allah. Meet up and get along with the people that can guide and keeping us along the right path. Always make prayers to the Allah Almighty for keeping us in track with our iman and consistency in ibadat. Never let our value as a true Muslim to be dissipated easily in accordance with the fallacious influences that readily existed in this surrounding world.

In shaa Allah, this will be the best way on seeing this world with the promising 'mask of Islam'.
